BlogFinals week eh…

For those who don’t know, here at UCR we go by a quarter system and boy, is finals week something none of us college students look for! It all comes down to 1 test in three hours that determines your final grade. For CS150 for instance, each problem was worth around 4-5% of our total grade! Imagine, miss two and there goes a letter grade.
Then for instance you have Physics. Which my friend Chris mentions that its not about how well you do, its about how well you fail! In other words, we just worry we “fail” better than others. As in, doing around average!
Unfortunately there’s the lucky ones who get finals week over by Tuesday and just bother everyone else or do fun stuff while we still have to study and wait for that final judgment!
How do I prepare for finals? I usually start studying a week or two before so I don’t really pull all nighters. Never have. Why don’t you share your story below?
So while finals week come around, don’t expect anything tutorials anytime soon as it takes a good amount of time to produce something of great quality!

Its true that finals are crazy. I just got three hours of sleep and paid attention throughout the quarter but its still not enough. In the sciences, you worry about getting a high failing grade. Engineering you nitpick over the details. In business you use info from other classes. Lastly, in the arts you get high and draw your best masterpiece.

My last exam is on Monday… I hope I will pass and then finally I can get some more free time…
The worst thing is I am too lazy. I always start learning for an exam just the day before…

Engineering you nitpick over the details? Whoa…we apply skills learned in previous courses as well. I’ve had one class that uses skills from 2-3 other different previous courses.
Procrastination seems to be everyone’s best friend!!

Good luck on your studies. I know the feeling. my school is tri-semester and I have to recall what I have studied in 3 months in the 3 hour exam. I hope you do well.
And nice site by the way, this is my first visit here.
