Amazon Code Ninja!

So where has Talk Binary been this entire time? Unfortunately extremely busy! I’ll most likely end up talking more about my professional career, and roll out tutorials and what not every now and then. That way, you’ll see more fresh and unique content as well as an insight of whats becoming of my life.

From SHPE Conference Arizona

Talk Binary is an Amazon Code Ninja!

So what is this Amazon Code Ninja? It is awarded to those brave programmer’s who upon giving a challenging ninja question embark on a quest to solve it! I was apparently the first one to solve their question at the job fair I attended. I’ll provide the question if I have permission to do so! I apparently became the first person to submit a picture to Amazon.com , about my ninja, so wait to see it on their website at the end of this month!

Also, upon completion of solving their ninja coder question I was offered an interview! So let’s see if I get any good news in the following months! I applied for a summer internship.

SHPE National Conference

Where was I anyways to be given the chance to see this ninja code? I was at a SHPE National Conference in Phoenix Arizona about a month ago (Remember, I’m President of the SHPE Chapter here at UCR). Amazon.com had a booth at its amazing job fair that consisted of companies such as Raytheon, Google (I gave them my resume!), BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman, Morgan Stanley, Verizon, Boeing, HP, and so much more!

I had an awesome experience there checking companies out and going through interviews. I ended up obtaining interviews with Verizon, Amazon.com, and Morgan Stanley. I also had a brief talk with people at the Google Booth. I was amazed when I saw the recruiters to be the same people who went to UCR! Want to know how it ended up going with Google? Then check back later!

Pictures about this conference are here. So what are you waiting for? Go check them out.

Stay tuned for a follow up of my experiences!

Andy, my fellow writer here at TalkBinary.com, also went, so he can probably talk about his experiences as well in the future. Meanwhile, just stick around so you can see a follow up of more detailed things about what happened at the conference. If there is anything in particular you want to ask, go ahead and I’ll do my best to answer your question!

So how did the interview go with Amazon? I was so amused by their funny ninja figure that I had to google search for whatever related to it on the Internet. Your blog is the only relevant one (besides all of those spams).

The interview actually went really well.

If you want to know the details, well they are like most technical interviews. You are first asked to talk about a project you have worked on and then you are asked a technical question. The technical question is of course tough but if you know your data structures and their respective run times, then you should be fine.

Let me know if you want to know more. :)
