In the last 24 hours we’ve had a lot of new readers to Talk Binary from a couple of social media sites such as Reddit.
Since many haven’t had a proper introduction to my personal web space, I decided to do so for those that are new.
Let’s begin by who I am. I’m Diego and currently the site administrator (or blogger if you prefer) for Talk Binary. I’m currently an upcoming graduate student but, I’ll be sharing more about this once I’m actually in school.
Talk Binary is a blog that is devoted to helping programmers improve their skills through tutorials or guides such as, 10 reasons why programmers initially suck at programming.
This passion of sharing information started when I had the opportunity of facilitating workshops for incoming computer science students at UC Riverside during my undergraduate career. I learned a lot of things, especially the areas where programmers would have the most difficulty in and I also polished my skills on teaching since I did it for about 2 years.
During my stay at the university, I met with a lot of recruiters (Google, Amazon, Verizon…), professionals, professors, and all types of people involved in the industry and academia. I also had the opportunity of becoming president for an amazing organization called SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers), so it taught me a whole lot about working with engineers.
So I decided to make a web space where I could talk about my experiences.
This is where my mission for Talk Binary comes into place. I want everyone to start talking in binary. That means I want to discuss with you everything that relates to binary, which naturally involves programming, computers, technology and so many other things.
(You do know that theres 10 types of people in this world right? Ones that understand binary, and others that don’t.)
I tend to write frequently so if you like what you see, I invite you to sign up for my RSS Feed or RSS through E-mail so you can receive my future updates as well. You can also follow me on Facebook and Twitter.
I’d love to hear from everyone so feel free to leave a comment and let me know what types of things you are interested in. You can also use the Contact form if you wish as well.
