So lets me ask you a few questions. Have you ever installed Linux before? What Linux Distro did you install? Have you ever had problems using the internet on your PS3 before? Is your internet connection working? Did you recently install a router? Are you using the Wireless or Ethernet adapter? If you have a wireless router is it encrypted? Answer these questions for me and then lets move on from there. Ok. So lets me ask you a few questions.

Have you ever installed Linux before?
What Linux Distro did you install?

If you do everything in the Tutorial up to where you get to the actual Installation you'll notice that after the short terminal commands finish the screen will go black. This is because the resolution is set above standard def which in other words is High Def. That's basically why. Thanks for the question!
