Prolog, Google, and more reveal the answer to life and everything

March 5th, 2009 | 2 Comments | Posted in Images by Diego | - [Full Entry]

Prolog apparently reveals the answer to life if you try finding a binding for the variable X. Since it tries proving X for any value, apparently it decides to use the answer to life as the binding. Mysterious!? Tell us what you think.

Even Google agrees

Why is 42 the answer to the universe and everything in life? Beats me but apparently its the true answer. Try asking Google it doesn’t disagree.

Glassdoor – Company Ratings, Reviews, and Salaries

August 24th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Miscellaneous by Diego | - [Full Entry]

Ever wanted to know what employees at places like Google and Microsoft are making and what they think of their jobs? Well, Glassdoor provides you with Ratings, Reviews and Salaries of the employees themselves. They are anonymous of course. In other words, employees are more likely to give out the complete truth without worrying about being exposed.

Find out about the company you want to work for

The site is in beta so apparently it’s still launching. Either way, the amount of reviews, ratings, and salaries submitted is good enough to give you a great idea of what working for the company feels like, the perks given, the pros, cons, salaries, management, and more!

In other words, find out if your dream job is really…your dream job!

What happens when you get three ex senior Googlers? Cuil. According to its website, their search engine boasts 3x the amount of content than Google and 10x the amount on Yahoo. While checking it out, I was a little enticed. The “darker” theme for searching was neat and the way results are shown are something worth checking out. – Source

It still seems it doesn’t have ALL the sites on the internet. A search for Talk Binary…doesn’t show my site. I’m ranked #3 on Google, and #1 on Yahoo for that same keyword but not on this new search engine? Many websites are complaining the results aren’t too relative to the keywords so you shouldn’t bother with it right now. Maybe in the future?

The Vacationeers are one of my favorite users to follow on YouTube. They simple come up with the most geekiest and funniest videos online involving our good ol’ friend Google in a series called “The Googling”. Below is my favorite video:

Google Maps

This is what we envision Google to be. An omnipresent being with great and unforeseeable power…Don’t underestimate the power of Google!
